Introduction to Employee Relations


This course delivers the skills required to work with employee and industrial relations policies and procedures. It covers communicating and implementing employee relations policies and procedures that meet statutory and legislative requirements, assisting in dealing with employee relations conflicts and issues and generally working towards a harmonious industrial relations climate in the workplace.

Those who support the organisation/employer in dealing with employee relations in the workplace.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this course participants should be able to:

  • Understand the range and sources of IR material and legal implications
  • Develop skills in negotiation methods and tactics
  • Identify own conflict style and strategies to maximise outcomes
  • Obtain skills to communicate at all levels within the IR framework and the organisation plans
