Monitor and Facilitate the Management of Hazards Associated with Plant BSBOHS506B
The aim of this course is to enable participants to effectively identify hazards and assess and control risks associated with plant and equipment. The focus is on a systematic and risk management approach to the use of plant and systems of work associated with plant.

Content
- OHS legislation and regulation associated with plant including the National Standard for Plant
- Identifying hazards from the use of plant
- Sourcing information and data on plant and equipment hazards
- Analysing plant risks
- Controlling plant hazards
- Permit to work and isolation procedures
- Licensing and certification of plant and equipment
- Review and evaluation of risk control measures
Award
A certificate of attendance will be issued at the completion of the course. A Nationally Accredited Statement of Attainment will be issued to those who successfully complete the workplace based project as part of the Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of the course participants should be able to:
- State the legislation and regulation associated with plant
- Explain the responsibilities of employers, managers, employees, designers, manufactures and suppliers of plant
- Explain how OHS risk management applies to the use of plant
- Describe plant risk control strategies
