DURATION
Advanced Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety comprises 8 units; 5 OHS units and 3 electives
ASSESSMENT
Learning occurs both off-the-job and on-the-job. There are workplace based projects and assignments that participants complete on their own time. Participants are expected to apply in the workplace what they learn in the course and be able to demonstrate they meet the competency standards through assessment.
AWARD
Advanced Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety will be awarded to those who complete 8 units; 5 OHS units and 3 electives and complete assessment projects to meet the requirements for AQF Level 6.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the completion of the program participants should be able to:
- Collect and collate OHS Information
- Conduct risk assessments and OHS audits
- Link OHS information with other management systems
- Consult with internal and external clients on evaluation protocols, risk control measures, audit and communication processes.
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
Some training course participants may apply for recognition of competencies (skills and knowledge) that they already possess, for the whole course or any part. Participants who receive RPL need not undertake the respective course. Where RPL is granted, the participant is given full equivalent status as participants who successfully complete the course.
